And he needs a cup of coffee.
Well, we’re back. After a long, grueling haul to build a new setup behind the scenes, the new Whats4Eats has debuted!
WhatsNew
- Easier navigation. Tags—those links under the title of most pages—help you move through the site with fewer clicks and find just what you’re looking for.
- More pictures. The old site had pictures here and there on recipes. Now almost every recipe has an image. And we all like cookbooks with pictures, don’t we?
- More blogs! I’ve signed on two great authors to write about food and their adventures in cooking.
- Chef Brad Talks Back: I take up writing again about different cuisines, cooking tips, selecting ingredients, cookbooks and kitchenware, other such stuff.
- Melon Cauliflower: Melanie Neill is a working mother of two with her own—slightly twisted—take on food, fat, foibles and feelings in a post-post-modern world.
- Learning on the Job: Elliott Brown gives Whats4Eats recipes a run through the meat grinder as he picks a dish, cooks it up and reports back on the results.
- Improved Forums. The old setup was a sad little plug-in from my hosting provider. The new one is much better, with topic forums for any eater’s interests. Check it out and ask a question, give an opinion or just ask if anybody’s home.
WhatsComing
- My Eats. Sign up as a member and get special features like:
- A personal profile page with your photo, likes, dislikes and friends in cooking;
- Add your own recipes to Whats4Eats to share them with others;
- Save your favorite Whats4Eats recipes, blogs and countries to your profile page for quick reference.
- New and improved newsletters with updates on the latest additions and seasonal and holiday recipe selections.
- Better Shopping. Whats4Eats is partnering with Amazon.com to bring you a better shopping experience. Finding the right ingredients, utensils and cookbooks will be easier than ever with Whats4Eats’ new and improved on-line store.
In the meantime, I’ll be fixing bugs and sanding the edges of the new set-up. Let me know if you come across something that doesn’t work or have suggestions to make Whats4Eats even better. I’ll listen.
