Bitter Melon

These days Melon Cauliflower is turning into a Bitter Melon. My perpetual "sigh" is turning into an "ACCCCKKK!!!" It's this cooking thing. I do it, every day, every night (well almost every night) and I'm starting to really DESPISE it.
You know those foodie types that have passion for cooking, and love going to the local market and picking out the freshest herbs and trying out new recipes? Well ACCCCKKK!!! It's not me right now. I'm the ho-hum, gotta do it again kind of cook. Feed the family, wash the dishes, start all over again. Hit play, rewind, hit play again. Blah blah blah. Tales of a Mediocre Cook Under Fire.
Man I miss those days of coming home, toasting a bagel and calling it a night. Cooking a dinner was SPECIAL and meaningful, and exciting. Chicken was gourmet, sides were hand crafted, desserts were artisanal. Cooking for joy and not a chore.
I miss the good ole days...
