I went one time and i just wanted to get home. I hated EL SALVADOR the people the culture and the poorness of this country. My parents go and bring stuff from over there but never for me because i always thru everything away. I guess cause i came when i was 6 months old so i have no onterest in salvadorian culture. Hell i dont even like to speak spanish.  dont recommend pupusas they take to god damm long to make. Its just a waste of valuable time.

Veronica learn to spell and

Veronica learn to spell and capitalize when need be!! Not all Salvadoreans are as iggnorant as Veronica!

Dáme Pupusa!

So,yeah, I just moved to LA and had never even heard of pupusas.
I am from FLA and enjoy Puerto Rican, Cuban, Brazilian (Fala Capoeira!!) and many other
Latin and other cultures, people and Foods. (Try Ethiopian if u get a chance).
So I moved to LA and driving around the valley, I always see signs for Pupusas and Pupuserías.
I went walking around Lincoln Heights and finally had one.

It was delicious and unique, just like the el Salvadorian culture, Im sure.
I am Italian American with some European thrown in there(some might consider me a white boy, though I find the term equally amusing and insulting.

I love the variety and color of all of the different cultures. Korean, Japanese, Thai, Angolan, Carribean, you name it. People are so interesting and beautiful.

Plus I love just about any food, from anywhere, especially if I have the fortune to have the means to pay for it, or if I am shown the kindness to be given it as a gift.

I lived in Korea for a year, and was miserable and lonely in the Army, and this beautiful Korean family took me in and fed me all different sorts of delicious Korean dishes, all varied and foreign to me.

But that's me. If you're life is about the show Gossip Girls, Jonas Brothers and "that boy you like in gym class", I guess I feel sorry for you. But, I will let you know that you sound like a rich, dumb, white girl.
In fact, its that attitude that makes Americans so resented the world over.

But, you'll figure it out. Eventually.

I love PUPUSAS

Ignorance is killing you Veronica.

Food Site?

I tasted my first pupusas yesterday and it definitely hit the spot.

So I looked up how to make it and landed on this site.

This is a food site isn't it?

Whoever Veronica is, no worries, let her be her.

For the guy who said he is El Salvadorian and was trash talking his own people/country - dude, I'm the same way but have more respect for that is your heritage and nothing is going to change that.

You say you hate them which I have always said that the word 'hate' is a small word with a large meaning to it.

Besides, if there were no El Salvador/El Salvadorians then you wouldn't be here.

Expand your mind and your horizons will grow.

Peace.

Hey,I disagree with you Veronica, I was born in El Salvador, I live in Mexico and I have many friends that are rich and poor that are from Mexico, USA and from El Salvador. I love all Mexican, American food but no way I will give up the Pupusas they are the best and will not change a dish if I will be given a dish to choose to eat tacos, hamburger or pupusa I will choose Pupusa because I love them. My wife's family love pupusas. I am sorry you have a poor mentality and that you are such an idiot.God Bless El Salvador.

This Website

I was googling a recipe for pupusas and found these horrible comments. Especially, the pupusa between the leg bit was terribly offensive.
I'm sorry I found this website it really degrades us, Salvadoran.

Pupusas are Great!

I think along with Pupusas, El Salvadoran food it great. All should try you'll be hooked. Now my response to the Veronica comment. Anyone who reads her comment will quickly gather just by reading it; it comes from a uneducated, illiterate and insecure person. For you Veronica too bad you don't like to speak spanish but by reading all the errors on your comment, you haven't yet mastered the english language even after living here so long. So next time you want to express yourself "check yourself first." So sad to read that you are 100% Salvadoran, so insecure and thinks so little of her culture.

Veronica not liking Pupusas doesn't surprise me; her statement says it all. Veronica has poor taste!

To Veronica

I hate to be blunt, but I think your comments illustrate what's meant by the term "self-hating." I have to say I disagree with you on all your points except for the fact that Salvadorans are poor. Many are. But that's not a reason to hate them or be embarassed by them or your Salvadoran heritage. I personally love pupusas. I got a great cheese pupusa at a street fair last Labor Day and it was perfect. I fed it to my toddler and he looooooved it!

Veronica, I can see for the

Veronica, I can see for the way you express yourself you still young enough to understand that life takes different turns at any point of our existent. You might had come here early in your life but that does not mean that if the Creator wants to give you a lesson so that you can understant poor people he can't give it to you. I have lived in this country for a long time since my youth and have seen poor people of all kind of races. I just want to let you know that we are not exempt from poverty, it can happened anytime. Let's just pray that we don't go through that in our lives. I feel more comfortable speaking English, however, I am enjoying the more business opportunities I get at life for knowing two languages. I recomend to you to get more educated, try to write English better and if you don't have anything positive to contribute to others just zip your mouth. You would not like anybody to tell you that you are ignorant or stupid for not knowing how to spell the word "Throw" correctly? Do you?.
I personally love pupusas....OUR ancestors did a great job to keep them going.

Well, I beg to differ on

Well, I beg to differ on your ignorant comment "Veronica", I'm a very successful dentist residing in San Salvador, and though our country is small it's NOT poor. I enjoy pupusas from time to time, they're great snacks or a good meal; My favorite are cheese with loroco. Now... Please do tell me, and do enthrall me, what's your last name? Exactly. You have no honorific background to declare yourself a member of Salvadorean Royalty you retarded woman. Our country El Salvador consist of wonderful people some poor, some rich, but great nonetheless. You're the scum ruining our great country's image. Who do you think you are? You don't even reach my ankle as far as education, success and family stand go. Do I sound like a snob? Sure, but I can, but you? Ha! At least I don't degrade our hard-working fellow Salvadoreans and our wonderful country, you don't deserve to be called a Salvadorean! You're trash, nothing more!

Sorry for the tantrum gentlemen, but people like Veronica are ruining our country's image.

Well, I beg to differ on...

Bravo P.A. Ventura II, Well done and so well said. It makes me prouder to be a salvadorean living away from home. People like you show how diverse our beloved country is. You are so well educated than can berate someone without being vulgar. Well done for all well educated and non educated country people. I feel very proud. And for all this nonsense originated by certain worm called Veronica somewhere possibly in a slum in some country, all I want to say is VIVAN LAS PUPUSAS Y VIVA EL SALVADOR. Wow what a name it gives me goose bumps to say it.

BTW there's no such thing as

BTW there's no such thing as Royalty in E.S. just a humorous mockery of people on Cloud 9 who think of themselves as God's gift to the world, like Veronica for example. ;)

It's a shame...

Veronica,

I first have to make it a point that I am Salvadorian and a very proud one at that. I was not born there but both my parents and the rest of their family was. I was brought up with as much Salvadorian culture my family could pour me with and I must say that I am thankful to be a part of a beautiful culture. Poor countries are all over the world. Even in the US do we have many poor communities that aren't much different than the ones in El Salvador. I must say that regardless of their economical status most of those "poor and ugly" (as you said) people are hard working and humble humans that did not choose the life they have but where handed down all they have ever known.

I am proud and thankful to have such a different and unique culture behind me and I wouldn't change it for the world. It's a shame that you don't think the same, however I'm sure that El Salvador, the beautiful and diverse small country that it's proud to be, has many people that appreciate the culture and many envy.

Good Luck, cause in my opinion you can't be anything successful in life unless you are successful in your OWN identity.

Aracely

The idiot who doesn't like EL SALVADOR

You are such an idiot and what you're really saying is that you hate yourself...not EL SALVADOR. I don't know why people like you even bother to comment...just shut your mouth and keep your idiotic, narrow minded, self loathing attitude...to YOURSELF.

Veronica's ignorant comment

WOW!!! Ignorance is a bliss!! I am actually embarrased to think that you and I share the same heritage. I was actually born in the U.S. and grew up with the finer things in life (I am not saying this to brag) however I admire the people that are back home struggling and living each day. I grew up in NY and dine at expensive restaurants BUT I will never give up the delicious dishes that are exclusive to El Salvador.
